Why We Stopped Selling Lavu

We installed Lavu systems for many years—we were one of their top dealers. It was a solid iPad POS, especially in the early days when options were limited. But the restaurant POS market has changed dramatically, and we’ve moved on for a few reasons:

Better options exist now. When we started with Lavu, the iPad POS space was new. Today, systems like SkyTab offer free hardware, on-site installation, and the option to eliminate processing fees entirely. That’s hard to beat.

Support and pricing changed. Lavu went through ownership changes and restructuring. The local dealer model we built our business on isn’t what it used to be.

We found better deals for our customers. We can now offer restaurant owners free hardware and better support through other partnerships. It didn’t make sense to keep pushing a product when we had better options.

Is Lavu still a good POS system?

Lavu still works, but the competitive landscape has shifted. When we started selling Lavu, it was one of the few solid iPad POS options. Today, systems like SkyTab offer free hardware and installation that Lavu can’t match. We think there are better options for most restaurants now.

Do you still install or support Lavu?

No. We ended our Lavu partnership a while back. If you’re currently on Lavu and need help, we can consult on a migration to a new system. If you’re shopping for a new POS, we’d recommend looking at SkyTab or Square depending on your business type.

I’m on Lavu now. Should I switch?

If it’s working and you’re happy, there’s no rush. But if you’re paying for hardware, dealing with support issues, or your contract is coming up — it’s worth comparing. SkyTab’s free hardware and zero-fee processing options could save you real money.
